TAKE-BACK PROGRAM

TAKE-BACK PROGRAM

TAKE-BACK PROGRAM

Despite our best effort and high-quality design, an Underprotection piece will eventually reach a state where you no longer want it or use it anymore. Hopefully, worn out from being your favourite item! Our mission is that Underprotection products never become waste and we believe that all garments, no matter condition, are valuable. Therefore, we have started our Take-back Program – a program that welcomes your worn out Underprotection pieces and give them a second chance by either upcycling or recycling them.

Truth be told, this is our first trial of taking back used products and finding the solutions on how to give them a new life. Along this journey, we will learn and build partnerships to establish the best solution as recycling technology evolves. We already use recycled fibres in our material choices, but our long-time goal is to be able to recycle our used materials into new wearable Underprotection products. It is not as easy as it sounds and for some of our materials there is not yet scaled solutions to ensure high value recycling.

To best care for your garment and the environment, we recommend that you wash at a 30-degree programme with a mild laundry detergent, preferably nontoxic or biodegradable.

Your garment is likely to shrink by 3-5% after washing, but you can regain near original shape by ironing or steaming it.

To protect the environment and the garment, always dry naturally and in the shade.

HOW IT WORKS

When your Underprotection favourites are worn out or no longer fit, we want to make sure they don’t become waste. Our Take-back Program welcomes all Underprotection products, either bought on our webshop or in a store around the world, and provides you with two options for giving back your worn out pieces: You can either use our drop-off point in Copenhagen or send your pieces to us. In return, you’ll receive our Take-back Reward as a thank you for helping us minimise waste. If you send it home we ask you to collect minimum 3 Underprotection pieces to reduce shipping.

We want to thank you for helping us build a circular system and contribute to the new life of the Underprotection pieces. In return for giving back your used pieces, we’ll give you a Reward of 30%. The reward has no expiration date and can be used on our webshop the next time you need a new favourite item from Underprotection.

We do not accept garments or products from other brands.

WHY IT MATTERS

We insist on taking part in finding the right ways to support circularity within an industry that have doubled its textile production in the last 15 years and have one of the highest impacts on humans and nature, especially due to the heavy use of resources and materials in the production of new textiles. At the same time, the life of textiles has decreased. Less than 1% of used textiles are recycled into new ones while tons are being discarded and burned every year. Recycling technologies are evolving, but at the same time facing difficulties due to material blends and bad fibre quality.

As part of the fashion industry, we wish to act responsible towards the environment and the people making our products. We strive for transparency on what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Our sustainable strategy involves supporting circular systems within the industry by developing models for take-back and resale to extend the life of our products and materials while keeping up with the latest development on recycling technologies. This also includes our care guide and our strong design philosophy that supports the use of recycled fibres, timeless and high-quality design.

BRA MEASUREMENT

To find the most accurate size you have to do two measurements, A: bust and B: band. Do the measurements on your bare skin. Start off by measuring all the way around your bust where it’s widest. Then measure all the way around just under your bust. We have plus sizes for mostly all of our bra’s to make sure that bigger busts can fit our bras. When a size is plus size the underband stays the same and the size of the cup will go a size up; for example a size S+ has an underband that fits a regular size S and the cup size fits a regular size M. Be aware that it’s meant for you to start out using the outer buckle of the hook and eye closure first. Then you can adjust and tighten when the underband elastic gets looser.
